Last updated: June 1, 2025

1. Product Overview

Thank you for purchasing our handmade wooden lamp. Each piece is crafted with care from natural wood and comes fitted with standard electrical components. Please read these instructions and disclaimers thoroughly before using your lamp.

2. General Safety Instructions

Inspect Before Use

  • Upon unpacking, remove all packaging materials and inspect the lamp for any visible damage (cracks, loose parts, frayed wires).
  • Do not use the lamp if you notice any damage. Contact us immediately (see Section 6).

Intended Use Only

  • This lamp is designed for indoor residential or office use ONLY.
  • Do not expose to rain, moisture, or prolonged humidity.

Placement

  • Place on a stable, level surface.
  • Keep away from direct heat sources (radiators, space heaters) and open flames.
  • Maintain at least 12 in (30 cm) of clearance above and 6 in (15 cm) on all sides for proper ventilation.

Children & Pets

  • Keep the lamp out of reach of children and pets.
  • Never leave the lamp unattended when plugged in, especially if children or animals are nearby.

3. Electrical Safety

UL‐Listed Components Only

  • This lamp is assembled with UL‐listed sockets and UL‐rated wiring.
  • Always use UL‐listed replacement bulbs (see Section 3.3).

Voltage & Bulb Requirements

  • Use only bulbs rated for 120 VAC, 60 Hz.
  • Maximum bulb wattage: 60 watts (incandescent) or equivalent LED (e.g., 8–10 W LED).
  • Do not use CFL, halogen, or non‐UL‐listed bulbs.

Plug & Cord

  • Plug into a properly grounded (three-prong) outlet.
  • Do not use extension cords or adapters that disable grounding.
  • Avoid pinching, crushing, or allowing any part of the cord to run under rugs, furniture, or carpeting.
  • Regularly check the cord for fraying or exposed wires. If damaged, discontinue use and replace the cord with a UL‐listed replacement.

Switch & Socket

  • Turn the switch OFF and unplug the lamp before changing the bulb.
  • Allow the old bulb to cool for at least 5 minutes before handling.
  • Do not touch a hot bulb with bare hands; use a soft cloth or heat‐resistant glove.

4. Usage & Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Always unplug the lamp before cleaning.
  • Use a dry or slightly damp, soft cloth to wipe wooden surfaces.
  • Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials on wood or finish.
  • For metal or socket areas, use a dry cloth. Avoid moisture around electrical components.

Wood Care

  • Natural wood can expand or contract slightly with temperature and humidity changes; this is normal.
  • To maintain finish, occasionally wipe with a dry microfiber cloth.
  • If minor cracks appear over time, these are natural characteristics of solid wood and do not affect safety.

Routine Checks

  • Periodically verify that the socket is firmly secured to the lamp body.
  • Ensure connectors are tight and wires remain insulated.
  • If you hear crackling sounds, see flickering, or smell burning, unplug immediately and discontinue use until inspected.

5. Warranty & Liability Disclaimer

Limited Warranty

  • We warrant that this lamp is free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase.
  • The warranty covers only manufacturing defects—does not cover damage from misuse, improper installation, water exposure, or normal wear and tear (e.g., finish fading, minor wood hairline cracks).
  • To make a warranty claim, return the lamp to us (prepaid), along with proof of purchase and a brief description of the issue.

Liability Limitation

  • By using this lamp, you agree to use it under recommended conditions only (indoors, on a stable surface, with UL‐listed bulbs).
  • We are not liable for any injury, property damage, or loss resulting from:
    • Failure to follow these instructions.
    • Use of non‐UL‐listed or improper bulbs.
    • Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or alterations.
    • Exposure to moisture or high humidity.
    • Accidents (e.g., tipping, dropping).
  • In no event shall our liability exceed the original purchase price of the lamp.
  • These disclaimers do not affect any rights you have under state or federal law.
